Reading Community Carnival

King and Queen Gala
The gala was held at Reading Town Hall 26th May.
The Children's Gala was held at the Mapp Centre on 19th May. The was a free event for all the family and was well attended. There was a showcase of children' carnival costumes, refreshments, games and music which was chosen by the children themselves.
Costume Making Workshops
Costume Design workshops ran from the 15th March for 10 weeks. Much of the cost associated with staging the workshops were met from a grant awarded by the National Lottery from the Arts Council England.
The workshops were lead by Herman Philbert who has many years experience designing and making costumes for Notting Hill and Trinidad Carnivals as well as Reading.
